Chinese help for new women and children's hospital - Basil

A new women and children's hospital affiliated to the Ragama Teaching
Hospital will be set up near the Ragama railway station with Chinese
government support. This will be affiliated to the Ragama Teaching
Hospital, Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa said.
He was speaking following an inspection tour of the Ragama Teaching
Hospital with Health Minister Maithipala Sirisena on Thursday.
Both ministers observed shortcomings at the hospital. The minister
promised to fulfill requirements of the hospital immediately. He
promised to take action to complete the half constructed buildings.
Minister Rajapaksa responding to a request of the hospital staff,
agreed to take prompt action to carpet inner roads of the hospital.
Ragama Teaching Hospital comprises 1, 400 beds. Around 400 indoor
patients are receiving treatment daily. In addition, around 2,500 to
3,000 outdoor patients seek treatment at the hospital. |
