Port back to normal

The private prime mover vehicle drivers who struck work due to the malfunctioning of the SL Customs Computer system ended their campaign and Port activities returned to normalcy.

The strike by the private prime mover vehicle drivers, due to a malfunctioning of the computer system of the SL Customs was called off following discussions between SLPA Chairman Dr. Priyath B. Wickrama, SLPA Managing Director Capt. Nihal Keppetipola and Director General of the Sri Lanka Customs Sudharma Karunarathne and a number of higher officers including the Police.

During the discussions, SLPA and the Transport Services Association have reached a solution that includes ten important areas of concern and has been issued with the consent of the Chairman of SLPA.
