Muzammil takes office as Colombo mayor

As the representatives of all residents of the Colombo Municipal Council area, we have a very big responsibility to protect all of them without considering their race, religion or their political views, said Newly elected CMC Mayor A J M Muzammil addressing the inaugural ceremony which was held in connection with the taking office.

He also said that the support of the opposition is very much essential for them to develop the city.

Participating in the occasion United National Party Deputy Leader Karu Jayasooriya said that CMC is a small state and also Colombo is a city with plenty of resources. So all residents of the CMC area should give their fullest support to create a revolutionary change in the city within next four years.

UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa, MP John Amaratunga, Municipal Commissioner Badrani Jayawardane, MP Josep Michael Perera, CMC members, officials and many others participated on the occasion.
