'Poorly managed state resources to be taken over'

The government has decided to take over all state resources which are
not properly maintained, National Languages and Social Integration
Fishery harbours, forest areas, and environment sensitive areas. The
plan was approved by the National Physical Planning Council at a meeting
chaired by President Rajapaksa on January 13, 2011 in keeping with
Section 3 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act No. 49 of 2000.
It was drawn up by the Department of National Planning on the
guidance of Minister Wimal Weerawansa and the contribution of scientists
of various sectors, state officials and Technical analysts.
