Ruwan, Nilusha in 139 stand

A fine opening stand of 139 between Ruwan Bandara 66 (11 fours, 104 balls) and Skipper Nilusha Galapitage 105 (4 sixes, 11 fours, 143 balls) helped Vidyartha College to total 254 for 8 in the opening day of their inter-schools cricket match against Kingswood College which began at Police Grounds, Kandy.

Over two hours play was lost due to rain. The match will be resumed today at 9.30 am.

Vidyartha College 254 for 8 wickets decl. in 55 overs (Ruwan Bandara 66, Nilusha Galapitage 105, Muditha Elpitiya 32, P.L.P.Hettiarachchi 4 for 55, D. Monarawila 2 for 55).

Kingswood College 7 for no loss
