Matara Thomians draw first two matches

St Thomas’ College Matara drew the first two fixtures in their under nineteen cricket season. The first was with St Sebastians College, Moratuwa and the other with Royal College (A), Colombo.

Ashan Dinura Ranasingha who leads the Matara STC contingent this season performed creditably with bat and ball in both matches. He remained unbeaten in all three innings he played with an aggregate of 194 runs and has taken 16 wickets for 142 runs including two five wicket hauls with his right arm off spin.

St Thomas, Matara 205 in 94.2 overs (Ashan Ranasingha 86 not out, Ishan Maduranga 29, Mohamed Misthak 27, Shan Fernando 5/56 and 11/0)

St Sebastians 133 in 49.5 overs (P Anthony 55, Ashan Ranasingha 7/20, Mohamed Misthak 2/30)

STC Matara vs Royal ‘A’, Colombo at Uyanwatte

Royal College ‘A’ 191 in 51.1 overs (Heshan Ramanayaka 63, Isuru Gunathilaka 37, Madusha Rajaratne 34, Ashan Ranasingha 5/79, Prasan Madushan 2/21, Vidath Jayanidu 2/14)

And 170/8 in 40 overs (Anupa Tillakaratne 50 not out, Madusha Rajaratne 40, Tharinda Malaweera 22, Ashan Ranasingha 4/43, Ashan Vimarshana 2/34)

St Thomas, Matara 143 in 49.1 overs (Ashan Ranasingha 43 not out, Lasith Lakshan 25, Nevindu Udesh 24, Lasith Embuldeniya 7/52) and 116/4 in 29.1 overs (Bad light) (Ashan Ranasingha 65 not out, Mohamed Misthak 13 not out, Harsha Kularathna 1/10)
