World Spice Festival on Oct. 28

Sri Lanka Tourism will stage the World Spice Food Festival 2011 for
the sixth consecutive year from October 28 to November 9. This will
provide an unique culinary experience for local and foreign visitors
whilst showcasing international culinary expertise with the added Sri
Lankan flavour.

This year the festival will enable the culinary fraternity to learn
and share with international signature chefs while offering more diverse
dining options for both visitors from local and foreign countries.
This year's "World Spice Food Festival 2011" is staged in line with
the tourism promoting strategy adopted by the Sri Lanka Tourism. The
World Spice Food Festival 2011 will be launched on October 26 at the
Mount Lavinia Hotel at 6 pm and highlights of the World Spice Food
Festival will take place at Green Path from October 28 to 30 and this
will be followed by live cookery demonstrations, cultural performances,
fusion drumming, DJ music and Latin dancing items.
A three star celebrity chef from New York Bjorn Van Der Horst will
participate at this year's event and will showcase his world renowned
culinary recipes.
Thirteen city hotels and five reputed restaurants in Sri Lanka with
their signature chefs will demonstrate a wide array of international
gourmet dishes in their hotels and restaurants from October 31 to
November 9 giving unforgettable cuisine experiences for all food lovers
in Sri Lanka. |
