The 22nd Junior National Squash Championship commenced at the Tamil Union Cricket Club squash complex yesterday. The country's most represented junior tournament received 262 entries this year and will continue till October 23.

Age category events for boys and girls from U-9 to U-19 are on cards while the preliminary rounds of U-9, U-13 and U-17 worked off on the opening day. The novices tournament for age categories U-11, U-15 and U-19 included more than 80 players and will start from tomorrow.

Sri Lanka Squash Federation is conducting the championship while the Ritzbury chocolates sponsors the event for the fourth consecutive year.
