MAS Holdings wins overall championship

MAS Holdings put an end to John Keels’ four year domination when they clinched the Presidents Trophy at the fifth annual Mercantile Swimming Championship on Sunday at Thurstan College swimming pool.

The defending champions, John Keels Holdings were 27 points behind in the points table which let MAS Holdings to walk away with the champions trophy, having collected 469 points.

Unilever Sri Lanka won the third place (174 points) while BSM Enterprises (97 points) and HSBC-A (84 points) were placed fourth and fifth respectively.

The event was organized by the Thurstan College Aquatic club in association with Sri Lanka Armature Aquatic Sports Union for the fifth consecutive year.

Over 350 participants from 26 mercantile organizations lined up to splash the water in Thurstan pool. Deputy Minister of Education Vijith Vijayamuni de Zoysa presented the trophies and awards.
