Tilina Tennakoon and Janaka Pathirana were re-elected as President
and General Secretary respectively at the Annual General Meeting of the
Central Province Cricket Association held at the Central Region Office
of the Sri Lanka Cricket, Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy.
Janaka Pathirana after his election as General Secretary said that
the Central Province Cricket Association comprises the District
Associations of Kandy, Kegalle and Nuwara Eliya and the respective
District Associations should hold their Annual General Meetings on the
due dates. He said that there is no reason why the District Associations
should not hold their Annual election of office bearers on time if they
had carried out their functions properly and if the minutes of the
previous AGM.
The Annual Report and the Accounts are in order and ready. He also
noted with regret that one of the District Cricket Associations had last
held the Annual General Meeting in August, 2008 and also had not
conducted its Annual tournaments thus depriving the member clubs of any
competitive cricket or allowing them the opportunity of electing
officials of their choice.
