The test was held amidst tight security in a bid to prevent malpractices.

According to SLBFE, nearly 50,000 candidates sat for the Korean language proficiency test which was held at 10 centers in Colombo on Saturday and Sunday.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, Chairman Kingsly Ranawaka said that the exam was concluded successfully without any untoward incident.

All the examination centres had been provided tight security and applicants too were subjected to strict security checks. Candidates were not allowed to carry mobile phones or any other electronic device into the examination centers.

The test was conducted by the Examinations Department along with the SLBFE and Human Resources Development Service of South Korea.

Eighty Korean invigilators supervised by the deputy head of the Korean Human Resources Department also took part in observing the conduct of the test.

The test was held for the ninth time and this year recorded the highest number of applicants.

Last year about 22,000 were qualified to sit for the exams.
