Korean proficiency test concludes successfully

The Korean language proficiency test, considered as the first step
for Sri Lankan youth aspiring for lucrative jobs in South Korea,
concluded successfully, yesterday.

The test was held amidst tight security in a bid to prevent
malpractices.
According to SLBFE, nearly 50,000 candidates sat for the Korean
language proficiency test which was held at 10 centers in Colombo on
Saturday and Sunday.
The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, Chairman Kingsly Ranawaka
said that the exam was concluded successfully without any untoward
incident.
All the examination centres had been provided tight security and
applicants too were subjected to strict security checks. Candidates were
not allowed to carry mobile phones or any other electronic device into
the examination centers.
The test was conducted by the Examinations Department along with the
SLBFE and Human Resources Development Service of South Korea.
Eighty Korean invigilators supervised by the deputy head of the
Korean Human Resources Department also took part in observing the
conduct of the test.
The test was held for the ninth time and this year recorded the
highest number of applicants.
Last year about 22,000 were qualified to sit for the exams. |
