Central Province in 104 run win

Central Province scored a fine 104 run win over Colombo South in
their Sri Lanka Cricket under 17 inter-provincial limited over cricket
tournament match played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium
yesterday.
Highlight of the match was a fine knock of 100 by Trinity’s Ron
Chandragupta who scored 12 fours and 2 sixes off 126 balls. Another
Trinitian Dinuk Wickremanayake coming lower down the order batting with
a lot of aggression sprayed the Colombo South attack to all parts of the
ground to score a belligerent 81 not out with 8 fours and 3 sixes off
only 60 balls before time ran out for him.
Colombo South chasing a victory target of 289 runs were dismissed for
184 in 36.5 overs. Only Madushan Ravichandrakumar batted with confidence
scoring 51 not out with 8 fours.
Central Province: 288 for 4 in 50 overs 215 minutes (Bhagya
Palihawadana 33, Lakshitha Dassanayake 21, Ron Chandragupta 100, Rajitha
Jayatunga 40, Dinuk Wickremanayake 81 n.o, Madhushan Ravichandrakumar 2
for 39).
Colombo South: 184 all out in 36.5 overs (Ronaka Ahangama 33, Anuk
Fernando 30, Madhushan Ravichandrakumar 51 n.o, M Shiras 2 for 21,
Rajitha Jayatunga 2 for 33, Aravinda Withanarachchi 4 for 31).
