Maspro Lanka Managing Director Shelton Fernando said this antenna was designed by its Japanese partner for the Sri Lankan domestic market and the product has become a fast moving item during the first stage itself. The second lot will be manufactured in three weeks for distribution islandwide.

He said the buying power of the Sri Lankan customer has increased prominently during the recent past and with the development projects of the government people will upgrade themselves and look for better quality equipment.

The company has embarked on this expansion as it could foresee a high potential for this product in the near future. He said specially the city of Colombo is developing rapidly and a number of big hotels are on the way which will need latest and high quality technology and Maspro is getting ready to meet this future demand.

Fernando said the company is also planning to export the new product to the Philippines, Australia, Malaysia and Hong Kong to the export value of around USD one million. The new inbuilt antenna is suitable for China, Europe and the Middle East markets.

The company also has developed advanced CCTV cameras which will help private sector companies to save manpower largely while increasing productivity.

“If the country is to move forward latest technology has to be utilized which will guarantee their protection and customers can experience this at the forthcoming Techno exhibition,” he said.
