Children’s sports festival at Nattandiya

A children’s sports festival was held at the Sports School, Nattandiya on October 1 and 2 to mark the International Children’s Day.


The children taking part in the swimming meet at the sports festival.

Thirty-five children between the ages of 5 to 12 years from the Sports School and Kotramulla Muslim School, Nattandiya took part in swimming, football, gymnastics, dancing and arts and crafts during the two-day festival.

The festival which was organized by the AGSEP also helped to foster friendship and understanding between the children who belonged to all three communities, Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims. The event was co-ordinated by two volunteers from Germany Marlene Mast from Stuttgart and Hanna Maier from Stralsund near Hamburg.
