Wedding bells for ex-LTTEer on Prisoner's Day

The Jaffna Prison yesterday celebrated National Prisoner's Day with a
wedding of an ex-LTTE combatant and his long standing female companion.
The couple tied the knot at a colourful ceremony attended by all the
inmates, prison officers, relatives of the couple and other officials.
Prisons Superintendent Chandana Ekanayake signed as the attestor for the
bridegroom.
The event had been organized by the Prisoner's Welfare Society,
Jailers Association and Rotary - Jaffna. Interestingly the new couple
already have two grown up children as they had been living together for
a long time without getting their marriage officially registered. |
