New system from Micro Construction gains popularity

The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries recently awarded the Merit
Award at the National Achiever 2010 to Micro Constructions Pte. Ltd.,
for the services provided and the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects
recognized the superior design and construction capabilities of the
Insulated Bearing Structural Panel System and presented the Product
Award at their annual session.
This Insulated Load Bearing Structural Panel System had been designed
and introduced to Sri Lanka in 2005, by manufacturers of Micro Cars -
the first company to develop and manufacture a motor car in Sri Lanka.
It requires lesser amounts of raw material and skilled labour and the
panels are manufactured with machines and assured to comply with ACI/British
and other international and local standards.
Two coats of Portland cement is gun applied on both sides of the
panel using spraying technology giving it a final finish resembling
conventional walls.
The company has so far been successful in completing 50,000 sq.
meters of wall and floor area and has been able to achieve M2/C3 grading
under the ICTAD rankings.
During the past ten years, Micro constructions had clinched awards at
international venues and by now it has earned a name for strength and
reliability - synonymous with the Micro cars.

The University of Civil Engineering, Moratuwa, the State Engineering
Corporation of Sri Lanka and the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau
of Sri Lanka have recommended it for construction projects in Sri Lanka.
The company is an ISO certified construction company having membership
with the National Construction Association and the Chamber of
Construction Industry in Sri Lanka.
Micro Constructions have constructed many commercial buildings,
hospitals, villas, office buildings etc throughout the island.
Micro Constructions have now been mobilized in the Northern and the
Eastern provinces and is currently constructing the first luxury private
hospital in Jaffna. The company is also carrying out projects in India,
Kenya, the Maldives and Pakistan.
This building construction system extends the protection of homes
against natural and accidental damages while keeping the construction
time much less than the traditional methods. |
