Prabha Ganeshan, one time stalwart of the Democratic People’s Front,
yesterday said that history has given the Tamil people a golden
opportunity to express their solidarity with President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa freed the Tamil community from misery and
various travails. The people will vote for the UPFA at the forthcoming
Colombo Municipal Council election, he said. Ganeshan who is contesting
for a CMC seat under the UPFA ticket said that he is confident of the
UPFA’s victory at the forthcoming election. “We all can get together and
make Colombo one of the most attractive cities in the world, while
ensuring better living standards for those in the city, particularly the
shanty dwellers.
‘The UPFA will win the election and we will be a part of that
victory” he said. President Mahinda Rajapaksa is willing to work closely
with Tamil community for the development of the country. This is a
golden opportunity for the Tamil community to show their support to the
President. There will be no election in next three years. We all can get
together and develop the CMC, Prabha Ganesan told the `Daily News’.
Ganesan said that the UNP is now in tatters and one of its leaders has
formed an independent group. |
