Electricity for Wattahena areas

A new electricity project for Wattahena and Gammana was inaugurated by Good Governance and Infrastructure Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka. This was launched upon a request by Kalutara District Parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayaka to Power and Energy Minister Champika Ranawaka.

The project is worth Rs 1.2 million. Minister Wickramanayaka addressing the gathering said, "technology is essential for development. Development means a life without problems for the village and the entire society."

Kalutara District Parliamentarian Vidura Wickramanayaka said, "providing electricity has meant that technology and development had come to the village. Electricity was a luxurious thing in the past. But today it has became essential. The Nambapana area is rich in resources. When we develop the area we are concerned about saving resources," he added.
