The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for prospective
students and their families to visit SLIIT to view the institute's
facilities and familiarize themselves with the programmes of study
available to students in the fields of information technology,
electronic engineering and business management.
Academic and management staff of SLIIT was available to supply
information and advise prospective students regarding study programmes,
provide career guidance from enrolment to graduation and future
employment.
Information about campus life activities such as studies, sports,
clubs and student support services were also made available to students
throughout the day.
Key among the day's proceedings were workshops held by SLIIT's
affiliate foreign universities from the USA, the UK and Australia, which
gave prospective students an insight to the many academic pathways SLIIT
has made available for students who have completed their A/L's and who
seek quality tertiary education.
Large numbers of school students participated at these seminars,
which proved to be an invaluable guide to their future academic
prospects.
As the only private higher education institute in Sri Lanka to be
admitted to the Association of Commonwealth Universities and receive
accreditation from the University Grants Commission, SLIIT has garnered
a solid reputation for providing quality education combined with a high
success rate pertaining to graduate employability.
