More flyers for Deccan now

Deccan Aviation, which is a premier domestic carrier in the country will expand its presence in Sri Lanka adding a larger twin engine helicopter to the existing fleet in the coming six months making a mark in the aviation industry in Sri Lanka.

This year has been a significant year for Deccan Aviation which has seen 68 percent increase in topline during the first eight months of this year as against the corresponding period in 2010. It sees an increase in business flyers mainly fuelled by large scale investment projects taking place in the North and East.

Deccan Aviation CEO and Director Denham Schokman said, the composition of Deccan Aviation guest are growing at an unprecedented pace with 40 corporate flyers. In the past this used to be around 20 percent and they see more business flyers and investors chartering Deccan aircraft.

The company is focused to develop the charter business in helicopter and fixed wing divisions by adding more capacity to take advantage of the growth in the tourism and corporate travel. It has plans to extend its reach by providing operational and maintenance support to other airlines in the country.
