Compensation for motorists in petrol fiasco:

Susil wants committee to act

Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha has directed Ceylon Petroleum Corporation officials to implement the recommendations of the committee which probed the import of the controversial stock of petrol without delay.

He has directed CPC chairman Harry Jayawardene to expedite the payment of compensation to owners of damaged vehicles and ensure swift action against CPC officials responsible for the fraudulent deal, said a press release by the Petroleum Industries Ministry.
