Abducted lawyer found

The Police yesterday found the lawyer who was abducted by an armed gang while under treatment at a private hospital in Colombo a few hours after his abduction.

Officers of the Colombo Crimes Division who saved the lawyer from his abductors had also taken into custody two suspects allegedly involved in the abduction.

A close friend of the lawyer and another person who owns a private security firm is believed to be involved in the incident. The CCD is conducting further investigations.

A lawyer, Ananda Kasthuriarachchi was abducted by an unknown group yesterday morning while he was receiving treatment at a leading hospital.

The lawyer from Borella was admitted to the hospital three days ago with fever. ASP Russel de Soyza of the Slave Island police said that a security officer from the hospital had lodged a complaint regarding the abduction.He said that they are waiting for the hospital management to hand them over a CD, containing footage from CCTV cameras in the hospital to carry out further investigations.
