Aspirations partners top foreign universities

Aspirations Education (AE) international career guidance and student placement service center in Sri Lanka announced that it has partnered with premier universities in Australia, UK, New Zealand and Malaysia with the objective of providing access and opportunity for Sri Lankan students who wish to pursue a Postgraduate research programe.

General Manager Aspirations Education, Ms. Deepamala Abeysekera, elaborating further, "Students who have completed an undergraduate degree assume that they are able to get a placement in a reputed university at the postgraduate research level.

This clearly is not the case. They need direction and assistance in selecting a research area, processing their postgraduate applications. Furthermore It is important to submit the research proposal properly in order to gain admission to the university and to secure funding from the university or a scholarship awarding body. Therefore students need to have proper guidance in processing the PhD/ Masters by Research applications; this is where Aspirations comes to the rescue".

The programme is aimed at students who are presently pursuing undergraduate studies in the final year, recent graduates, professionals who are considering entering academia and staff in local universities who wish to obtain a postgraduate qualification.

According to Senior Manager Strategic Planning and Business Development of Aspirations Education Nadeen Kumarasinghe, "This exercise offers our students an opportunity to interact with academics and establishments world renowned. Partnered top notch institutes are in the caliber of University of Sheffield which is a part of the Russell Group of Universities in the UK and Monash University, a group eight university and Macquarie University, Griffith University, University of Wollongong which are ranked among the top 15 Australian Universities by Australian Education Network, and the University of Canterbury New Zealand which is rate among the top 200 global universities by QS World University Rankings."
