Police rewarding process to speed up

IGP N K Ilangakoon

IGP N K Ilangakoon has taken measures to speed up the police rewarding process with immediate effect.

The Police Department grants reward money for officers who engage in anti-vice operations and sudden raids ranging from capturing illicit liquor to large scale illegal activities.

During the recent past, there have been delays in rewarding officers, which directly hindered the efficiency of those who carry out their duty.

The IGP had ordered all officers in charge of police stations, district divisions, rangers and provinces, and senior DIGs to take immediate action to reward deserving officers.

The police reward fund has been a key factor for the efficient service of police personnel. The IGP’s decision to speed up the rewarding process will also uplift the economic standards of the police officers.
