This special trilingual degree programme is to be initiated in the Arts faculties of all universities.

The minister was addressing a special conference held to discuss ways and means to get six local universities promoted to international level. "All measures will be taken in the near future to initiate other special degree programmes for education, Information Technology and tourism industry," Minister Dissanayake said.

"We have discussed with several vocational training institutes to give an opportunity for university students to follow these vocational training programmes. The Charted Institute for Management Accounts (CIMA) also agreed to provide assistance for this programme." the minister said.
