Air drop of flowers at Nallur Kovil Festival

Flowers were air dropped by an Air Force helicopter as the decorated chariot came out of the temple premises at the Annual Chariot Festival held on August 27.

This air drop of flowers was in consequent to an approval granted by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on a request made by Traditional Industries and Small Enterprize Development Minister Douglas Devananda. The helicopter made three rounds and dropped flowers on to the premises of the kovil as hundreds and thousands of devotees chanted arohara.

The annual Nallur Kovil festival was held on a grand scale drawing a large number of devotees from all parts of the country.
