Super luxury buses for expressway

Transport Minister Kumara Welgama said that plans were being drawn up to operate a super luxury bus service on the southern expressway.

He said two luxury buses will operate initially on the road. The number of buses will be increased according to the needs.

The buses will be bought from the Lanka Ashok Leyland company. The Transport Minister went to the Athurugiriya work site of the Ashok Leyland Company to find out whether the buses to be purchased were of the required condition. The value of a 41-seat super luxury bus is Rs 9.3 million.
