A protest campaign against the alleged rape of a girl who participated in a Shramadana campaign at Royal College, Telijjawila was held opposite the college yesterday morning.

The campaign was jointly organized by parents and residents.

Akuressa Police arrested five suspects including an Air Force deserter. The suspects produced before Additional Magistrate Matara, Dulani Amarasinghe were remanded until September 14.
