Building a house in this day and age is a daunting task and many
potential home-owners invariably encounter a multitude of problems when
constructing a house and good advice from qualified professionals is
either too expensive or hard to come by. Therefore, News 1st teamed up
with S-Lon to address this situation and assist prospective home
builders in the Mawanella area.
The event, held on July 30 and 31 at the Mawanella Myurapada College,
with the objective of assisting prospective home builders from selecting
the right plot of land all the way up to where they move in to their
just completed home. Well-known Astrologers, qualified Engineers,
Architects, Lawyers and relevant government authorities were on hand,
providing consultations and advice in their respective fields to all
participants during the event.
In addition, they were accompanied by raw material suppliers, finance
sector organizations and skilled resource people such as Plumbers,
Electricians etc.
A selected group who had problems with regard to plumbing in their
homes were given the opportunity of getting them resolved at their
residences via a mobile maintenance service, which was also carried out
during this period.
Hundreds of people from the surrounding areas flocked to the event,
where many walked away with satisfied smiles, thanking and complimenting
the organizers for the valuable service provided, confirming the
effectiveness and value of the programme. Both News 1st and S-Lon have
promised to hold many more similar programmes in other areas around the
island in the future. |
