SLSC organizes ‘Exporters Forum’
The Sri Lanka Shippers Council (SLSC) will conduct a forum titled
‘Exporters Forum’ with industry leaders on September 8 at 2 pm at the
Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Auditorium, Colombo 2.
This forum is organized to understand all trade and operational
issues and find answers to or lobby to relevant authorities for any
remedial action needed in one voice as an industry. Areas being looked
at are simplification of cargo clearance procedures and delays, delays
in getting your approvals, documentation issues, importer’s issues and
importers re-exporter’s issues, high costs and charges (import and
export), lengthy and time consuming procedures, non value adding
activities and waste of resources and new ideas.
Sri Lanka Shippers Council, that had been 41 years in the trade is
willing to help and share their expertise with regard to trade and
operational issues.
This in the council’s vision and desire is to contribute to the
national development and as an initiative for interactive programmes for
the membership and the trade.
The forum is offered free of charge for the participants.
Those interested in participating are requested to contact the Sri
Lanka Shippers Council Secretariat at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and
register on or before September 6. |
