Green Grass to build new hotel

The Green Grass Hotel management is planning to build a new hotel
comprising 27 rooms in Jaffna with an investment of Rs 60 million.
Green Grass Hotel and Restaurant Managing Director T. Jegaseelan told
to the Daily News Business that there was a rapid increase in tourist
arrivals to Jaffna. “We believe that Jaffna requires more hotel rooms
offering comfort with an efficient service at a competitive price for
travellers,” he said.
The four storey hotel will consist luxury rooms, a restaurant, and a
conference hall along with other facilities. Eighteen rooms in the hotel
have already been built as the first stage of the project and rest will
be completed in one year. The Green Grass Hotel has a 24 room hotel in
Jaffna with all facilities including luxury rooms, family rooms,
restaurant, bar, conference room, swimming pool among others.
At present 50 people have been employed in the hotel and many direct
and indirect employment opportunities will be generated after completion
of new hotel.
He said hotel occupancy has grown to about 95 percent during the
Nallur festival.
There are many places where the culture and lifestyle of the area
including Jaffna library, Jaffna fort, Nallur temple, Casuarina beach,
Nagatheepa vihara could be experienced the travellers. |
