Two drunk cops nabbed

Two police constables were nabbed by the Kandy Police Fraud Bureau for engaging in Perahera duties at the Kandy Suduhumpola junction in a drunken state on Thursday. A bottle of liquor was also seized from their possession.

The duo had been assigned to Kandy from the Hatton and Galewela police stations for perahera duties.

Following a medical examination the two constables were released on police bail. Investigations are continuing directed by the Central Province Senior DIG.
