Bail for suspects who attempted to attack actress

The Elpitiya Police released on bail two suspects who allegedly attempted to attack actress Geetha Kumarasinghe on Wednesday. The Police said that both parties involved in the incident had agreed to settle the problem peacefully.

Actress Geetha Kumarasinghe told the Daily News that the incident occurred when she attended a funeral in Elpitiya on Wednesday around 4pm. Kumarasinghe said that she decided not to proceed with legal action regarding this incident on humanitarian grounds taking into considering the plight of the suspects wife who is pregnant.

“As a woman I feel sorry for her plight,” Kumarasinghe said.
