Jayasekera Management Centre anniversary:
Community welfare activities organised islandwide

A number of community welfare activities have been organized by the
Jayasekera Management Center (PVT) LTD (JMC) to mark its 39th
Anniversary and the 60th birthday of its founder and the Managing
Director J M U B Jayasekara.
This was revealed at a press conference held yesterday at the Nippon
Hotel.
This is to be commemorated on August 20 at its Headquarters at Fort
from 9.00am to 12.30 pm.
Distribution of educational equipment to rural schools, distribution
of 5,000 spectacles to low income earners, islandwide blood donation
campaign, awarding of 1,000 educational scholarships for children from
samurdhi families and awarding of scholarship for disabled soldiers and
their family members, will take place.
A raffle draw for students and teachers islandwide will also be held.
"The objective is to give students and lecturers an opportunity to
win educational equipment", Jayasekara said.
Launching of several books will also take place in parallel to these
events.
Two books out of these are authored by J M U B Jayasekara under the
title Palamuwenna Obai and Adyapanaye Nimwalalu Pulul Karana Mahinda
Dekma, while a novel will be launched by his son under title
Awarjanayata Awasarai.
A biography on J M U B Jayasekara authored by L D Gunathilake, Sumith
Weerasiri and Malani Dissanayake under the title Penerayak Novei Kullak
Weyan Puthe is also to be launched.
The event will be participated by Higher Education Minister S B
Dissanayake, Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena and Water Supply and
Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardana. |
