Cafe Che named after the famous revolutionary Che Guvera himself, demands that you arouse your inner appetite to feel the taste of a rebellious meal with the launch of their latest food menu. Placed next to Ghandara complex in Stratford Avenue Colombo 6, Cafe Che provides you with a refreshing setting where one can enjoy their routine meal in an evocatively decorated trendy setting.

The artistic interior greets you with paintings of Cuban lifestyle and the portrayals of rebellious Che Guvera himself. The new menu comes with a delightful set of Cuban and Mexican food varieties. Speaking to the Media, Director Operations of ‘Cafe Che’ Nadira Madurapperuma noted, ‘The Cafe Che’s new menu combines an electrifying lineup of Cuban, Mexican and Continental delights along with the regular favorites that go well with the inspirational ‘Che’ theme.

Nadira along with Chef Malinga has taken great pride in formulating the menu which can touch your taste buds to the core. The new menu starts with a delectable selection of salads. The salads include Mexican chicken salad and the popular Cuban Salad named ‘Ensalada de Aquacate - Pina’ which is made with sweet sour and salty flavours combining pineapple, avocado and sliced onion. The ‘appetizers’ include Smoked salmon and cream cheese rosettes and herbed garlic mushroom and goat cheese bruschetta.

Adding a refreshing change to your routine meal adventures, the cafe provides you with a varied selection of Cuban specials. The Cuban specialties include Pescada De Habana (Oven baked mullet) Criollo Chicken Gumbo (Pan fried chicken cubes) and Cuben Ropa Vieje (Pan fried shredded beef). Mexican selection is highlighted with a choice of Nachos and Tacos. The introduction of Burritos in the new menu offers a variety of vegetarian, meat and seafood fillings. ‘From the Grill’ section of the menu features roast rack of lamb, roast stuffed pork loin, ginger and chili baked fish. ‘From the Pan’ section offers a choice of parmesan crusted chicken and beef stroganoff.

Continental delight comes with ‘Fresh Pasta and Dried Pasta. ‘From the Wok selection presents some Asian highlights with Nasi Goreng and Chicken with Thai Basil among the rest. For a snack or a light meal the cafe offers you a super selection of Sandwiches and the pub style dishes from Shepherd’s pie to Bangers and Mash. The tantalizing whole new desert collection comes with delectable specials varying from Passion fruit Cream Brulee, Classic baked cheese cake, Apple Tarte Tatin to Brownies and Fudge. Amid the delightful collection of desert collection is the ‘Margarita Ice cream’. The Margarita Ice Cream comes with a touch of tequila and triple sec which is just what you want to wrap up your routine meal.
