Mobitel launches mPower for aspiring executives

The National Mobile Service Provider Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel taking on the role of the partner in success for aspiring executives now provide a range of customized offerings via Mobitel mPower post paid packages, available in mPower190, mPower390 and 790, with the aim of empowering the busy lifestyles of executives and enabling them to stay ahead of the rest.

Mobitel mPower is the perfect solution for all go-getter executives, offering the best value for money with unbeatable features. Each customized package is inclusive of essential services such as voice and video calls, SMS and Data, tailored to cater to varying individual requirements. The mPower 190 package offers free talk time, SMS and MMS with a unique offering of 200 MB free data, making it a fitting package for busy executives who need online access in their line of work. Similarly, the mPower 390 and 790 packages offer the above features with higher capacities of free talk time, SMS and MMS and free data along with news alerts, mTunes and access to social media.

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel, the National Mobile Service Provider and the Official Sponsor of the National Cricket Team, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom. In January 2004, the company launched its fully-fledged 2.5G GSM network that is EDGE/GPRS enabled and designed to operate on dual band. In December 2007, the company launched its 3.5G HSPA network - the first Super 3.5G network in South Asia. Further, Mobitel successfully demonstrated HSPA + MIMO technology with down link speed up to 28.8 Mbps and carried out successful trial of 4G/LTE technology with downlink speed exceeding 96 Mbps, for the first time in the South Asian Region. Investments committed to date in the 2.5G/3.5G/4G networks and service offering amounts to over US$400 mn.
