GAC Sri Lanka to use magampura Port to receive its new boats

GAC renowned as the world's No 1 Global Ship Agency and Off Shore Marine Service provider has decided to use Sri Lanka's newest and the strategically located Port of Hambantota for their Shipping and Marine activities.

GAC Sri Lanka is a joint venture between GAC Sweden and McLarens the Sri Lanka's largest Shipping Agency house. GAC pioneered the marine activities off Port of Galle 15 years ago and has now established as a world class off shore Marine service provider serving many ship operators with larger number of vessels attracted to Galle.

GAC plans are currently underway to develop Hambantota Port activities where number of unique facilities is available.

Three new specially built crew/supply boats will join the current fleet in Sri Lanka's southern waters and GAC has contracted to transport two of these boats on "Beluga Singapore" a specialised heavy lift carrier to Hambantota which is scheduled to call in mid-August whilst the third boat is expected in Colombo from Netherlands around third week of August.

This will be the first specialised cargo discharge operation to be carried out at Hambantota and GAC is proud to be the first to operate at this unique Port of Hambantota. Incidentally GAC handled the first bunker barge at the inauguration of the Port of Hambantota.
