Prime Grameen lends over Rs 500 m in two months

Prime Grameen Micro Finance Limited’s total lending has surpassed Rs
500 million since two months of inception and plans are under way to
increase it to over Rs one billion during the next coming four months.
Prime Grameen Micro Finance Limited Chairman B. Premalal said, they
are providing microfinance loan facilities through their 48 islandwide
branches including the North and the East to initiate self-employment
without collateral or guarantors.
He said their intention is to empower needy enterprise women in the
country through implementing self employment projects through their 48
islandwide branches.
Prime Lands (Pvt) Ltd joined Grameen Micro Credit Co Ltd to rebrand
as Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd to enrich the lives of thousands of
people engaged in self employment project throughout the country.
He added that Grameen Micro Credit Co Ltd had been successfully
operating for the last ten years and it has provided loans in billion to
enrich the living standard of thousands of people.
“There were 365,000 engaged in Grameen Micro Credit Co Ltd at the
time of the financial crisis in 2008 , 2009 and our target is to serve
all of them in the near future. Now it has reached over 40,000 since two
months of inception,” Premalal said. He said the membership of the
company is increasing daily in operations conducted by the 48 branches. |
