Burglaries rampant in Panadura

Bodirajaramaya at Talpitiya North in Wadduwa was burgled and the thieves fled with Rs 100,000 worth property including a camera installed inside the shrine room.

Also, Talpitiya City Co-op was burgled and the burglars left with a Rs 138,000 worth cash machine and other valuable items. Wadduwa Police is investigating but no suspects were arrested.

At Wekada, Panadura, three houses in Jayanthipura area were burgled.

The burglars left with Rs 200,000 worth jewellery and other items. Panadura Police is investigating.

Meanwhile, an army deserter who robbed a T56 weapon and 9 magazines with 260 bullets from Boyagana Army camp in 2008 was arrested recently by Sub Inspector Anil Masakorala, OIC of Moratumodara police recently. The person was employed in a timber shed in Egodauyana, Moratuwa.
