Summer Sundaes by the poolside

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo has just the refresher for a sweltering summer day - ice cream sundaes by the pool! It is one of the largest, most inviting swimming pools of the hotels in Colombo with the distinct advantage of a picturesque view of the serene Beira Lake.

On a sunny day, sip a tropical smoothie while lounging by the pool or indulging in one of the hotel’s latest ‘Summer Sundaes’ at The Poolbar open from 8 am to 8 pm daily.

Five new ice cream sundaes make up the ‘Summer Sundae’ range this August. The Peach Melba is a delicious concoction of peaches, vanilla ice cream and Melba sauce. Sri Lankan pineapples are so absolutely magnificent that chefs were inspired to create the Pineapple Hurricane using fresh pineapple and homemade pineapple ice cream topped with whipped cream and cherries. Tropical treats continue with the Banana Float made of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, fresh cream and almonds.

Try the Café Liégeois for a taste of homemade coffee ice cream, whipped cream, coffee sauce and fresh strawberries garnished with chocolate pieces. Meanwhile, keep the kids entertained with a Coupe Antillaise that combines strawberry and fruit and nut ice cream with a generous topping of chocolate sauce, walnuts and Smarties.
