Heavy rains damage houses in central hills

Nearly 210 people have been affected while 38 houses have been damaged due to the heavy downpour experienced in several parts of the country, Disaster Management Centre said. According to Disaster Management Centre statistics, 110 people in 43 families in the Nuwara Eliya district have been affected by the heavy downpour.

In addition, 36 houses have been damaged in the Nuwara Eliya, Kotmale and Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Nuwara Eliya district. Of this number two houses have been completely damaged while 34 houses have been partly damaged.
