MARKSS Healthcare supports Kinniya Hospital

MARKSS Healthcare (MARKSS HLC) one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka, under its flagship sustainability initiative, "Markss Wellness Campaign", conducted a workshop on the topic "The importance of calcium for pregnant mothers"for medical officers of Kinniya Hospital. Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr S Jeyakumar delivered the keynote speech at the event.

MARKSS Healthcare Medical Director Dr S Mahakalanda said "We at MARKSS are privileged to have supported Kinniya Hospital in this effort.

The hospital was destroyed by the Tsunami in 2004 and was rebuilt. The doctors are dedicated and committed to provide a high class service to the community."

The Kinniya hospital maintains a LSCS (Lower Section Cesarean Section) average below 10% of total deliveries performed in the hospital.

District Medical Officer of the hospital Dr A H Sameen who was also present at the workshop commended the efforts of his staff for their hard work and dedication.

He also said that the hospital currently serves a population of over 85,000 in and around Kinniya, in the Trincomalee District.
