from President Mahinda Rajapaksa |
Srinko was established in 1984 for the manufacture of stationery
products, such as file folders, diaries, diary covers and promotional
articles and its Chairman Wimal Rupasinghe and Managing Director
Samantha Rupasinghe, with a view to exploring the market potential for
quality manufacture of the said products, initially introduced them to
the local market.
In the local market the Company successfully performed by
manufacturing its products maintaining quality, on-time delivery and
competitive price acceptable to the local market and became a market
leader in this product category. After their successful entry into the
local market, they decided to take their products to the export market.
From here onwards the Company tried hard to find ways on how to enter
the international market. For this they sought the advice of the Export
Development Board and the Commerce Department where they stressed that
the key factors are competitive price, quality and appearance to enter
the global market.
With these successes they found regular buyers from the UK, Japan,
Italy, Canada, Mauritius Islands, Tunisia and some South African
countries and random buyers from the Far East.
Their export range of products comprise clip board files, ring
binders, lever arc files, tool packing cases, vehicle manual covers,
vehicle insurance and packing wallets to leading stationery outlets,
vehicle manufacturers and importers in Japan and Europe.
For the success of their efforts from 1991 till 2011, they have
achieved significant progress in these markets and receiving the Award
for the Best Exporter for the Small and Medium Enterprises at the 2011
Presidential Awards Ceremony. |
