Galle 'Investor Day'

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) in association with the Matara Branch of the Colombo Stock Exchange conducted an Investor Day on July 16 at the Town Hall, Galle to educate investors on investing in the stock market and Unit Trusts.

Approximately 1,000 investors participated at this event which was a part of several initiatives implemented by the SEC to take the stock market to the outstations.The programme was conducted as a part of SEC's popular Prathilabha weekly TV programme which is being telecast on Rupavahini.


Correction note

The Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) President Ramal Jasinghe clarifies that the insurance industry in Sri Lanka is experiencing a shortage of "Actuaries" and not "Specified Officers" as mentioned in the article published in Daily News Business on June 12, 2011 page no. III
