St. Servatius - Vidyaloka match ends in a tie

The under 15 Division II cricket match between St Servatius' College
Matara and Vidyaloka College, Galle ended in a tie at the Sumangala
cricket grounds in Hikkaduwa on Saturday.
Vidyalokas' No 7 batsman Imalka Attanayaka 47 off 55 deliveries with
two fours and two sixes and last man Kavinda Niroshan 10 off 17
deliveries with one six put on forty one runs for the last wicket to
avoid defeat and tie the match. It was a gritty performance by
Vidyaloka's bottom order to reach 129 runs from a precarious 58/7.
Deciding to bat first St. Servatius were restricted to 129 runs in
49.4 overs. Randika de Silva was the only batsman to take on the bowlers
scoring 26 with four boundries Ruwan Lakshitha scored 20.
The bowling was excellent with Nawod Weeratunga bowling his 10 overs
for just 13 runs. Sameera Ishan (3/10), Samitha Ravihara (2/36) and
Imalka Attanayaka (2/38).
Vidyalokas' batting collapsed at regular intervals with only Imalka
Attanayaka on an unbeaten 47 Sameera Ishan (11) and Kawinda Niroshan
(10) the only three batsmen to enter double figures.
Thushan Eranga claimed 2/30. The extra bounce off the astro turf
wicket saw the St. Servatius pace bowlers conceding 38 wide deliveries.
