Unilever re-launched its flagship brand Sunlight and will carry out 125 community project programmes to mark the re-launch which will benefit over 25,000 families across the country. The total value of the entire CSR project is Rs 3.5 million. Sunlight is a progressive brand and though there is a market shift from soap to washing powder we were able to sustain the demand.

"We anticipate the demand to continue and the new look Sunlight will recapture the market," Unilever Marketing Director Asanga Ranasinghe said.

"The soap bar will remain the key format for the local consumers though there will be a marked increase in the use of washing powder in time to come. The re-launched Sunlight will focus on soap market and plans to widen the market share further," Ranasinghe said.
