Best wishes for Chinese Communist Party - SLCFA

The Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka - China Friendship Association (SLCFA) extends best wishes for the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China.

Association General Secretary Sumathi Dharmawardena and President Anand Goonatillake in a letter addressed to Chinese President and Communist Party General Secretary Hu Jintao said:

"The 'Communist' paper published in Sri Lanka on May 1, 1949 by founder members of our Association has commented on 'One Great Red China' liberated by the People's Army of the Communist Party of China.

'With the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949, the Communist Party of China has transformed the country in to a great political and economic power house of the world today. "The People's Republic of China is pre-eminent amongst all international friends of Sri Lanka.

'China is our paramount protector in the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations.

'Chinese assistance was the utmost in the war against separatist terrorism.

'Moreover, China provides the broadest possible contributions for our development projects.

'The Sri Lanka-China Friendship Association that has closely watched the developments take place in China during last six decades is pleased to extend its greetings to the General Secretary and members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the 90th Anniversary of the party'.
