Ten fishermen in Indian custody return tomorrow

The Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry said 10 fishermen and two vessels in Indian custody will return to Sri Lanka tomorrow.

The Indian Coast Guard will hand over the fishermen and vessels to the Sri Lanka Navy at Kankesanthurai.

The fishermen were arrested by the Indian Coast guards in Tamil Nadu territorial waters on May 31.

They had left the Dewundara Fisheries Harbour and Nilawella in vessels Jayaisuru 08 and Juggaya 05. Fifty two fishermen and 10 fishing vessels are in Indian custody, sources said.
