'Two groups in Tamil Diaspora'
Nadira GUNATILLEKE
There are two groups in the Tamil Diaspora now. One group clearly
opposes the LTTE and the other is still supporting the LTTE ideology,
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Rajitha Senaratne
told the Daily News.
"The first part is the pro Tamil group. They do not support the LTTE.
The second group still supports the LTTE even after the government wiped
out terrorism from Sri Lanka," Minister Senaratne.
He said that even Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton received funds from
the LTTE while they were engaged in the Presidential Election campaign.
But they rejected those funds after realizing that the funds came from
the LTTE, one of the the world's most ruthless terrorists organizations.
But still billions of LTTE funds are there in foreign countries.
These are the funds used by anti Sri Lankan elements. Minister Senaratne
pointed out that discussions are now going on with the Tamil National
Alliance (TNA) to find a political solution. Discussions should be held
with all Tamil political parties. Devolution of power will be the
solution to the conflict.
The 13th amendment is part of the existing Constitution of Sri Lanka.
It is the responsibility of the government to protect and implement the
country's Constitution.
All should support the government find a solution to the conflict and
make Sri Lanka the Wonder of Asia. It is the responsibility of all,
Minister Senaratne added. |
