CGF Evaluation Commission meets President

Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) Evaluation Commission President
Luise Martin and its members met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple
Trees yesterday.
The meeting was held after the Evaluation Commission members visited
the Hambantota venue which will be vying to host the 2018 Commonwealth
Games. The Commission had arrived in the country to assess Sri Lanka’s
capability of hosting the prestigious Commonwealth Games 2018.
The Commission members spent four days in the country. Central Bank
Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal said that the Commission was satisfied
with the conditions in the country.
South Africa Sports Confederation and National Olympic Committee
chairman Gideon Sam, Barbados Olympic Committee Secretary Erskine
Simmons, the Associations of Summer Olympic International Federation
Executive Director Andrew Ryan, Commonwealth Games Federation Chief
Executive Officer Mike Hooper, Secretary to the President Lalith
Weerathunga and Sports Ministry Secretary Udaya Seneviratne were also
present.
